Mahila Jagriti Yojana was launched on 8th March,1999 (on International Women Day) by this department .
Objectives :
	To increase the access of women to the resources and their share in the development of Nation.
	To strengthen women economically , socially and to uplift the social and economic status of women ;
	To make them aware about the schemes being implemented by the different departments for the welfare and development of women ;
	To help them to supplement their family income through economic generating activities.
Under this scheme, self-help groups of women have been formed. So that they can be able to solve their problems by themselves
