This scheme was launched in the year 2003-2004 to give life     security to the persons living below poverty line to give them life     security.

Under this scheme, persons living in the BPL families in the age     group of 18-60 years are covered.

Under this scheme, an amount of Rs. 200/- is paid premium per     beneficiary.

50% premium will paid by the State Govt. and 50% by the Central     Govt.

Under this scheme, in the case of natural death of the insured     member, an amount of Rs. 20,000/- , death due to accident Rs.     50,000/- and in the case of partial disability Rs. 25,000/- and in     case of complete disability due to accident Rs. 50,000/- will be     provided.

The children belonging to these insured members and studying in     the class 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th will be given scholarship @ Rs. 300/-     per quarter.

An amount of Rs. 50.00 lac is earmarked for the financial year,     2006-07 under this scheme.
